Compassionate use of Medical Marijuana

Are you pro or con in the Legalization of Marijuana? Cannabis or marijuana is a plant that yields both drug and useful fibers, it’s no question ancient civilizations have been using this plant for thousands of years. The earliest known record that the cannabis plant has medicinal purposes that dates back to ancient china. The Chinese used the plant to treat their emperor Shen Nung.This dates back to 2737 B.C. this is where the plant spread throughout the ancient civilizations through the means of trading.

In addition, marijuana today is mainly used as a medicine. Marijuana has medicinal purposes and it could help save lives of people who are suffering from depression, cancer, and epilepsy. The people would be looking for something new that’s recreational. Think about it, drunk driving would be less, drug-related crimes will decrease, and profits for gangs would be lessened because marijuana would be legal and be bought legally through dispensaries. While marijuana can impair driving ability, it has a much less dramatic impact than what alcohol does. Also, according to an article in CBS news has also found that, “when hundreds of dispensaries were closed last year in L.A., crime rates rose in surrounding neighborhood.”. If we legitimate marijuana transactions and taxed it, we would make society safer by destroying the alliances and gangs who monopolize the presently unlawful marketplace.

In conclusion, these aforementioned reasons why marijuana should be legalized in the Philippines.
