Proof of Heaven
Thesis Although the experience of Dr. Eben Alexander is doubtful, it actually seems plausible based on evidences recorded from the diverse interviews that he had especially with Oprah and Elizabeth Vargas and also from his responses given to the multitude critics of his book, Proof of Heaven.
Evidence 1 After seven days of coma, Dr. Alexander returned to the living world with his beautiful and interesting near-death experience related in his book, Proof of Heaven. Seven days in coma was quite enough for Dr. Alexander to Experience what could be called one of the most uncommon and probably impossible adventure for most human being. Deep in coma, Dr. Alexander actually remembered being in other dimension with no memory of his life on earth. He first woke up in a dirty underground. After spending some time into darkness, he was rescued by a spinning white light coming toward him with the most gorgeous melody. Accompanied by a strange beautiful woman, he was taken on a journey in a larger and more beautiful dimension where pure love really exists with no room for wrongness and where God himself resides. Dr. Alexander explained that he saw God and that he somehow felt his power and presence in him and in everything that surrounded him as everything was connected. Dr. Alexander is not the only one who experienced such adventure. There are many people before him who claimed that they were taking to the exact same place as described by Dr. Alexander by a loved one who had already passed away which is weird because Dr. Alexander didn’t recognize her spiritual guide. However, he explained that by the fact that he was an adopted child. He didn’t have the chance to know all his biological family. He knew his parents; however his sister, Betsy died before he had a chance to meet her. After recovering from his coma, he started to draw the face of the gorgeous woman who guided him all along his adventure, and that unknown beautiful woman turns out to be the same person who

For some reason, I kept fiddling with my fingers, I was really nervous to see him. We took the exit 31A and we all shifted to the left since it was a sharp turn to the right. My big sister, Maisie, was on my shoulder and we shifted her head fell on my lap. She woke up and asked where we were. “We are almost there Maisie” my Dad said. Even though she was legally blind, she had a little bit of peripheral vision. Her vision didn’t stop her passion for crochet though. Over the years, she had crocheted many afghans and clothing. With all these health problems, she never once complained. She wanted to live an independent life and that she did. Pearl lived alone in her house in florida for a few years and developed little tricks to get through in her daily tasks. One of her tricks was when she was filling up a glass, she would put her finger at the top of her mug to determine if the glass was full or not. She also was diagnosed with breast cancer and other minor health problems. She had her breasts removed and survived her cancer. When her daughter Pat and her family moved to North Carolina, she went with them. Pearl stayed in a room in her own section of the house with her five cats. For a couple of years they lived life happily. She would travel place to place to visit her kids once in awhile until one morning she had an aneurysm. Love is a complex emotion. It has the ability to make you feel like you are flying, literally touching and seeing heaven. Yet it also has the ability to break your heart into a thousand pieces, hurt you in ways you never could have dreamed possible, make you feel all at once like you are living a nightmare and dying at the same time. Love can be wondrous when given freely and unconditionally, or it can be dangerous when wielded as a weapon. There is no love more multifaceted then that of a parent and child. The relationship between Vivi and Sidda personifies both ends of the love spectrum, oftentimes, to the extreme. Through Rebecca Wells’s “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood” we are able to see Vivi’s beautiful, life giving love of Sidda, as well as the ease with which she brandishes her manipulation of the most painful aspects of love. Through Sidda we witness a child’s desperate need for approval, an unending desire to please and placate a mother who is both emotionally absent, and emotionally smothering, sometimes in the same breath. The “Divine Secrets” is a psychologically draining journey of a daughter’s quest to understanding the secrets to her mothers love.…

One interesting subject from the lecture presented on the sixteenth of September, was the Mandate of Heaven. The Mandate of Heaven is an ancient belief or theory of the Chinese that heaven sends the emperors of China with virtue and propriety. The emperor or ruler was considered to be the son of heaven and expected to be good and responsible. A ruler, however, can lose the mandate if he is unable to or does not live up to his responsibilities. Natural disasters were interpreted as signs from heaven of its opposition toward the ruler like famine or flooding. Also, if the peasants would revolt against the ruler that meant that the ruler had lost his support from heaven. There were no particular rules about who the ruler may be and it did not…

Recent travels to China have opened my eyes to both the flaws and the valuable parts of Chinese society and government. Much can be learned from the mistakes and successes of the Chinese society and government. The confucian ideals which started in China teach us the importance of respecting specific relationships, such as the priceless relationship between a subject and his ruler. From the Confucian time we also understand the importance of educational standards and morals, while the legalist ideals from ancient China show us the value in balance of punishment and reward. Furthermore, from Chinese government we can learn the significance of motivation to lead in a just, sensible, and ethical manner.…

People often believe in God by searching for the divine power through their inner selves. God exists within every human heart in the form of the love, compassion, understanding, and other positive traits that the human kind is capable of, yet they choose to suppress (Saranam, 2005). Often, one does not realize that regardless of what religion one follows, God is inside each human heart through all the positive qualities and emotions that one possesses. All the emotions that one feels are God given, therefore the search to connect with him can be done through one’s reflection of their life and the choices they have made. God is everywhere, so in order to connect with Him; one can choose to worship his power and existence without involving any religious aspect to their relationship.…
