What I do to establish and maintain a healthy environment is to prevent the spread of germs and promote healthy eating habits. Germs can be easily spread among the age group of children in my care, especially because they are in close contact with each other. One of the ways I promote a healthy environment is hand washing. On a daily basis I wash my hands before entering the classroom in the morning and ensure that all adults and children mother same. I always wash my hands before and after helping a child use the toilet, cleaning up bodily fluids, and handling food. I have the children wash their hands during similar times and ensure that they do it properly. I make sure they also wash their hands before and after playing at the water and sand table. Another way is to promote health is sanitizing all toys on a daily basis and…

Primary prevention refers to interventions that promote optimal health and prevent the occurrence of disease, injury, or disability. Primary prevention advocates health promotion. Primary prevention includes health promotion, environmental protection, and specific protection against disease or injury. In primary prevention, health promotion includes education in many forms such as nutrition and sex education.
