Promote Equality, Diversity And Inclusion
Diversity is differences between people.

even though people have many similarities they are equally different in many unique ways.

By treating a child with diversity it can increase the childs self-esteem and making them feel respected.

diversity is also about recognizing and realizing the differences.

A way to promote this is by using different puzzles or different themes etc for example having different cultures clothes so the children can dress up in for role play.

Equality is about treating people equally but also in an appropriate way for their needs.

for example treating a class equally but if a certain child needs more help for another its is appropriate for you to give that child extra help. but doing this in a way were all the

Inclusion is about giving all children an equal opportunity no matter what their skin colour, race, age, or sex etc.

an example of this is using persona dolls and using them in the activities to show the children other examples of how other people are different to them but they're still the same and equal as each other.

Participation is when all the children take part in the activities, that is suitable for their milestone. also taking part in activities is good for the children because they can get a chance to work as a group and develop their team working skills.

Participating in different activities are very helpful for the children due to the fact they could learn different things for example if an Indian child is in the class and they do an activity for the child the whole class is learning something different which is very important to make the child feel comfortable.

one child quoted "The way we was treated we didn’t even want to try and do anything" which is giving us an understanding of how the children felt.

This made the students understand that stereotyping other people is wrong and how it could make them feel and how it affects them.

two of the children had fought during a break and Jane had asked why and the child who began the fight had a collar on and he said he had hit the other child because he called him "brown eyes" even though the child admitted it hadn't made him feel better or resolved the situation by fighting.

jane Elliot then quoted "I watched what had been marvelous, co-operative, wonderful, thoughtful children turn into nasty, vicious, discriminating little 3rd graders in the space of 15 minutes. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8c6IWIAFUI ,27/01/2016)

I also watched another video were she done the same exercise on college students and it showed how upset the students got due to the fact they understood how prejudice they was.and how discrimination feel. after they done the exercise they hugged each other and cried to eachother. The sense of relief and togetherness the test subjects felt after the experiment seemed helpful to improve their function as a unit and even helped to raise test scores. When injustice befalls among children, they look towards a trusted adult to understand why they are being mistreated. The concept may confuse school aged kids. The way Mrs. Elliott confronts this is correct because in the end all of the children take away a positive message indicating that unfairness is wrong. This actually is a reliable way of teaching discrimination because if they didn't have to go through that experience, they may not know how to respond later on in life when witnessing someone being discriminated against. Facing the reality of this crisis requires patience. Shifting the responsibility of change through generations forms a new hope of no further demoralization and a prosperous social climate in the…
