Project Report on Absenteeism
Absenteeism is the absence of an employee from work. It is a major problem faced by almost all employers of today. Absenteeism of employees from work leads to back logs, piling of work and thus work delay.
The automobile industry in India is still in its infancy but growing rapidly. Since the first car rolled out on the streets of Mumbai in1898, the Automobile Industry of India has come a long way. During its early stages the auto industry was overlooked by the then Government and the policies were also not favorable. The liberalization policy and various tax reliefs by the Govt. of India in recent years have made remarkable impacts on Indian Automobile Industry. Indian auto industry, which is currently growing at the pace of around 18 % per annum, has become a hot destination for global auto players like Volvo, General Motors and Ford.
Tafe reach ltd started its operation on AUG 08 in Chennai on the tie up with TATA motors and it is a 4th main TATA motors and FIAT authorized dealer and service holder in Tamil nadu the main objective of the company to achieve “High customer satisfaction by uniquely offering “complete and reliable automotive advantage in all aspects of sales to customers.
The main objective of the study is to analyze absenteeism of employees at Tafe reach ltd and to study the factors that lead to absenteeism .for the purpose of the study primary data has been collected by distributing a well structured questionnaire to the employees of Tafe reach ltd, the sample size being 50. The statistical tools used in the study are percentage analysis weighted average and chi- square test
Major findings: * Majority of them find their job interesting. * Majority of the respondents are satisfied with pay package and superior-subordinate relationship * Majority of the employees avail leave for family problems. * Majority of the respondents feel that the most important factor which motivate them to be regular to work is superior subordinate
