    The researchers’ study primarily aims to find out the feasibility of using the shells of Durio zibethinus (durian) extract as the main ingredient for deodorizer. The procedure involved taking the fruit itself out followed by cutting the thick white part inside the shell. Subsequently, the thick white part is placed in a container together with 750mL of water, 100mL of ethyl alcohol and 5 tablespoons of potassium sorbate. The usage of potassium sorbate is significant because it serves as a preservative for the durian fruit. After 18-24 hours, the liquid was then distilled so that the extract can be acquired. When the distillation process was complete, the extract was transferred into recycled Yakult containers then distributed to 30 respondents for them to test in their different households. In general, the product was tested in places that possess an appalling odor such as closets or shoe cabinets. Although commercial deodorizers still prove to be more effective because of its added fragrance and chemicals in the solution, nonetheless, the group’s product is successful in eradicating the awful smell of the mentioned testing environment by absorbing it. As a result, this outcome proved the group’s experiment to be feasible despite minor flaws.…
