TASK 1
APPLICATION OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM
Project management principle determines its transferability across different industries. This study compared construction, information systems, and human resources, and accounting utilities industries with respect to typical project size, project management uncertainties, and qualifications of project managers. Results from the study found 80% of project management tasks being general across the industries, while the remaining 20% of tasks were industry-specific, supporting the notion of generic project management. The given scenario focuses on web development for vanguard paintball under the provision of project management. The following 9 principles of project management are going to be applied in this project.
1. PROJECT INTEGRATION MANAGEMENT
In order to solve the problems faced by vanguard Paintball, the principle of integration management will be of a great advantage. According to S. Kenneth Merrill (2007), the project integration management is the processes and activities needed to integrate the various elements of project management, which are identified, combined, defined, unified and coordinated within the project management process groups.
Integration management is expected to produce a series of deliverables; these deliverables comprises of project charter, plan, and preliminary project scope statement. Below is a list and brief explanation of what project integration management involves. 1. Develop the Project Charter – the development of project charter that formally authorizes the project or project phase. 2. Develop the Project Management Plan – this involves the documentation of the actions required to define, prepare, integrate, and also coordinate all subsidiary plans into the project management plan. 3.
