Section A
Twiga & Sons Ltd. started out as a trading company specializing in the sourcing, sale and service of
Kitchen and Laundry equipment, operating under a functional structure. Over the past ten years, the company has grown significantly and emerging opportunities have encouraged the company to venture into the installation of this hospitality equipment in Schools, Hospitals, Hotels etc. as turn-key projects. So far, demand is high but Management recognizes the need to embrace a more professional approach to managing these projects and they wish to introduce a project management philosophy in the organization.
a) Briefly describe some of the key steps that Management can take towards achieving this objective. b) What do you see as being the primary challenges to introducing this philosophy in Twiga &
Sons Ltd.?
