Bonaventure Chiropractic clinic will open soon in Shreveport, Louisiana and I have been hired as the HR Director for this facility. My first task is to perform a job analysis to determine the number of full-time employees this chiropractor will need to adequately run his office in a proficient, patient-friendly, manner. Therefore, it is important for me to examine the tasks performed in clinic, examine the competencies required to perform those tasks, and to form a connection between the tasks and the competencies. Dr. Smith, who is the owner of the clinic, was previously employed at an established, busy Chiropractic office that maintained 4 chiropractors located across town. Customers are viewed by those such as Mr. Phan, as purchasers of their product instead of people with needs that must be filled ( ). By assuming that all customers want what he himself wants when traveling, he created a product (a plain but modern room with a comfortable bed, standard bath facilities, and free cable TV) seemingly without any research done to either support or deny his ideas. He took the easy route when deciding on whether or not to include additions such as a pool and a restaurant, deeming them “unnecessary”.…

Herbal Solutions does not currently have a dedicated website to sell their herbs and promote their consulting services. The business’ only online exposure is through a Facebook page which is grossly inadequate for the purpose of conducting ecommerce primarily because it lacks a product catalog, a shopping cart and an electronic payment system. The business’ current marketing activities depend solely on word-of-mouth advertising. Although this has been the source of most of the sales conducted by the business, it has proven ineffective over time in growing their exposure and customer base beyond a few family members and friends. The quality of the herbs offered by Herbal Solutions is substantiated by the fact that more than 80% of their ongoing sales come from returning customers. With such a good product and a loyal customer base, the business will miss an enormous opportunity for growth if they do not expand into an online environment. This expansion is not only necessary for continued success, but crucial to the long…

James Nguyen, who would like to endorse the new expansion of the MANC company, wants to make the new facility a place of care for Vietnamese elderly people who have unique needs. This is a concern for Mary Ann, for the company has no experience in niche marketing and is uncertain that this will benefit the company. Before many main commitment is made, Mary Ann should contract an outside advisor who can perform a community analysis of the Vietnamese population in their area. This will give Mary Ann an idea of the demand and need for services that the new facility can offer. MANC will need to have resources to support the new services, as well as a new organizational structure to support the needs of the different patients. One of the main resources needed are staff members who will not only preform the quality of care that MANC is known for, but also those who can meet specific cultural and social needs, and speak in both English and…

City Hospital is known for treating renowned patients such as pro football players, movie stars, top executives, etc. Thus the hospital wants to strive and maintain their image through outstanding customer service and conduct. City hospital offers individuals an employment position within the organization as a patient escort. Patient escorts are simply needed to move patients from one place to another. Lately, the hospital has experienced an increase of patient escort complaints from its patients. While the job is a simple one the position is critical to the reputation of the hospital, since the escort is the last person patients see before they are discharged from the hospital. There are 40 patient escorts. However, turnover among patient escorts are high and some of the escorts typically transfer to other jobs within the hospital. The HR department reviews the files of the applicants, selects two or three for an interview and requires a physical exam upon hiring. Afterwards new escorts attend an orientation followed by on-the-job training from their immediate supervisor.…
