The American Revolution, also known as the Revolutionary War, was a significant event that changed the whole world. Although the Revolutionary War lasted only for eight years, the American Revolution started developing years before the first shots at the battle of Lexington and Concord were fired. African-Americans joined the Revolutionary War, because the principles underlying the revolution implied the end of slavery and granting of rights for them. American historian Benjamin Quarles, understood the African-American community's need for equality and freedom. Around 5,000 African-Americans served as soldiers in the Continental Army and about 20,000 in the British Army. The Revolutionary War was a blessing in disguise for many African-Americans, as it paved the way to freedom from slavery and helped them to embark on their journey towards equality and civil rights.…

The purpose of this community profile is to highlight the nurse's role and responsibilities in relation to facilitating health and wellbeing across the health, wellness, illness and age continuum and how this is achieved in a local geographically determined community (which for the purposes of this assignment, will be the town of Middlesbrough). Whitehead (1992) defined health inequalities as “differences in health that are unnecessary, avoidable, unfair and unjust.” These health inequalities are rife in Middlesbrough and, in turn have a knock on effect on the life expectancy of people living in the town which is significantly lower for both men and women than the national average (Middlesbrough Health Profile 2012, DOH). Middlesbrough is also the 8th most deprived local authority area in England according to Middlesbrough Councils Index of Multiple Deprivation…

I will be discussing the four steps that an organization should take to change its personnel profile. These steps include; performance appraisal, staff training and development, career development, and termination. The first step I will be talking about is performance appraisal. This is usually an annual event for every employee, and sometime contains quarterly and Simi-annual progress reports. It’s useful to mangers and administrations because they are able to determine employee skills and productivity profiles. This helps supervisor and employees to get the highest performers in the main positions. For example, a supervisor would be able to look at; an employee’s work performed strengths, weakness, and level of performance though scoring systems, charting, and comparisons.…

I selected my good friend, Frankie, for this assignment. Frankie is an older gentleman (somewhere between 50 and 60) that is very open about being an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 21 years now. He hails from Mattoon, Illinois, has also lived in Florida and now lives in Garden Grove, California. Currently he works at Telecare in Santa Ana, California where he works with adult men and women with mental disabilities. Frankie is a single male born on January 11 (year unknown – previous age given is a rough estimate as I have never asked him his actual age nor has he volunteered the information). His religious views? TRUST GOD, CLEAN HOUSE, AND HELP OTHERS (AA saying). The profile says he is interested in women (as opposed to men, and this is so true!). Before Telecare, he worked for the City of Anaheim until he was injured on the job. He was a resident at the Roque Center when he first got clean and sober on November 23, 1992 and has been the President of the Alumni Association there for several years. He went to Mattoon High School but it was mostly just to pick up girls. As far as music goes, he’s into Elvis Presley, Robert Plant, Dudley Taft, ZZ Top, Ronnie Van Zant, Bruce Springsteen and tribute bands such as Tribute Hurrikane and Ozzmania. Two of his most recently watched movies are “Easy Rider” and The Magnificent 7”. Some of his favorite TV shows are “Sons of Anarchy”, Two and a Half Men” and “Duck Dynasty”. Two of his favorite restaurants are Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Garden Grove and Anaheim White House in Anaheim. His interests include family barbecues, riding his Harley, hosting MMA fight nights at his place and watching NASCAR. According to his other likes and interests he is heavily involved in anything having to do with the drug and alcohol recovery world and anything that enables him to ride his Harley. He is one of the founders of Rock-N-Recovery Inc., a non-profit organization started up…

In an effort to better understand myself and why I make some of the choices in my life, I have taken two personality profile questionnaires online; the first was one recommended by my professor, called Keirsey Character Sorter, the second was of choosing and that led me to Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test. After careful dissection of the results I found that even though some of the findings were similar, the two tests painted different pictures of my personality. I will contrast and attempt to compare both examinations, showing why I believe the Keiser test is a more accurate description of my personality and character.…
