This allows technicians to perform X-ray’s at a patient’s bed side. Even though it’s not a big leap from what we’re used to, it is still, a step in the right direction. My professional growth plan will reflect this by giving myself steps. My first is becoming a Radiology Tech then hopefully becoming a Radiologist, it all begins with the first step. This is just another way of saying my professional growth is going to be a step-by-step process. Professionalism in the context of being a student in a doctor of physical therapy program contains promptness, time management, consistency and a great attitude. There is a famous quote by Alistair Cooke that reads "A professional is someone who can do his best work when he doesn't feel like it." I agree with that quote because over the span of a 2-3 year doctorate program life will change and difficult circumstances can present themselves to our lives. A true professional can still remain consistent in the midst of life's challenges and perform at a high level regardless of feelings. Not only will the true professional remain consistent, he or she will be prompt and show up daily with a great attitude.…

While the word `professionalism' usually refers simply to the quality of being professional, in truth it does not describe a single quality, but rather encompasses many different attributes that together define what a professional is. Throughout my experiences in various physical therapy settings, I was fortunate enough to observe therapists who have not only served as my role models, but have also taught me what professionalism really means.
