Professional Goals Essay

As I grew up, I knew in my heart that I wanted to work with children that needed help. Trying to figure out which graduate degree I wanted pursue in, I went in to work at an elementary school where I soon found out I wanted to become a counselor. When I looked into it and talked to the school counselor about my interest, she was estatic and suggested me to go for it. So in the interest of, my professional goal became to become a licensed professional counselor and after two years of teaching become a school counselor
As stated in my purpose of statement, all throughout my childhood I had a normal life however I also had hardships. Because of my hardships I vowed to not stand on the sidelines and watch a young child experience misery and hardships. As a teacher’s assistant. I hear multitude stories from my students’ about their troubles and I attempt to Help them develop belief in their ability, emphasize the importance of hard work and education and help them to set goals for their future. My student are my inspiration and the reason for pushing me to obtain my Master’s of Education in Counseling and Guidance. Each and every day I feel a form of accomplishment for the reason that I
I want to be able to leave a positive mark in the world, to be able to come home every night doing something I felt had great value and made a real difference. In doing that, I wanted to give myself greater value, by helping others toward their life goals by achieving one of my own: doing something I could be proud of. I wanted a stable career; one which I was in control of. I wanted to achieve a steadfast path by eeking out one road; rough as I knew it would be. I wanted to create a better life for me, and for my family. . I wanted to help others that are going through rough times. But I also help children develop resiliency skills so that they are better prepared when they hit those rough
