Career Decision Reflection

1. Describe your level job search readiness (draw on your job search readiness survey). KSA Evalution. All of the KSA’s are essential to exceed in my field, but the most important would be communication, critical thinking, leadership & teamwork, and marketability. Making persuasive, articulate written reports and oral presentations are perhaps the most important skills I will need. Creating strategies that help companies meet sales objectives is my primary function. If I cannot communicate these strategies, it would hinder me from doing my job properly. With the help of BUSX-301 and MKGT-341, my written and oral presentation skills have increased over the course of the semester. The more exposure I receive, the better I get.

As a marketing manager, I will have to be able to work with teams in leadership & support roles. I have worked in various student groups on campus and as a Senator for the Student Government Association I also oversee many groups on campus. Over the past year, I have gained much insight to working with different teams in different roles and I have continuously accomplished goals — even in the face of adversity. Having to thinking creatively is something that is necessary in my field, but something I wasn’t familiar with in a professional setting. Now that I have had to work with SGA and interning with Alfac, I have had to come up with solutions to reach my goals. An example is getting controversial legislation passed. When the senate is split on an issue, someone has to step up and find a better way to communicate the issue in order to influence votes. I have been that person multiple times.

The final KSA that is important is marketability. Coming into BUSX-301 I had barely any credibility. Helping companies build brand awareness and maintain level of marketability is important. Therefore, not being marketable will not land me a

The Institute of Medicine (IOM) released a report focusing on the future of nursing: innovative change and advancing healthcare (The Institute of Medicine, 2011). This IOM report created a great impact upon the nursing profession by talking about education, advancement in practice, and presenting nurses as leaders in the medical profession (The Institute of Medicine, 2011). The field of nursing is ever changing with innovative ideas and improved standards of safe patient care. The IOM report focused on the “critical intersection between the health needs of diverse populations across the lifespan and the actions of the nursing workforce.” (The Institute of Medicine, p. 4, 2011). Their recommendations are “intended to support efforts to improve the health and the U.S. population through the contributions nurses can make to delivery of care. But they are not necessarily about achieving what is most comfortable, convenient, or easy for the nursing profession.” (The Institute of Medicine, p. 4, 2011). While these three key messages touch on different areas, they are all tied together by the same goal: providing patients with the highest quality of patient-centered care.…

There are many things that make good hospitality and a pleasurable guest experience. For those that are passionate about working in the industry, hospitality is really about treating each and every guest as you would in your own home and comes from a passionate heart. Of course if the hotel had hospitable workers, it must also have a good leader with a good relation to his follower. In Crown Regency Beach Resort, their management is well managing with proper standards. The resident manger also maintains closeness to his/her employees to develop team work to reach their goal. The strength of the employees is there team work that makes their work easier and fun. They also give respect to whom that is in the position like the department heads. They also give a good example to practicum students and train them with the hotels standards. Their front office staff is very nice in treating their guest, as the guest arrived they informed the F&B department to serve a welcome drinks to their guest. For me it is a gentle way of welcoming the guest. Front-office staff welcomes the guests, give some drinks, carry their luggage and help them register if they not reserve a room yet. Most of the guest in crown regency hotel were Koreans,Taiwanes and few are Filipinos. The FO uses a universal language so that the other guest could understand and can communicate well. They also answer questions about the activities in the hotel and surrounding area. The safety of the guest and staff is secured because the hotel had lot of cctv camera. They had cctv on the lobby area, in dining area, in kitchen, in hallway, in an elevator even in rooftop they had, in pool area and many more. Their facilities give leisure to their guest and a range of amenities designed for the comfort of the guest, including premium quality beds, air-conditioned rooms with a cable TV, safe deposit box, hot and cold shower with complete…
