Process Reflection Paper –
Initially I began with an extremely broad topic mainly because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to focus on yet, but also because there was so much that I wanted to work with. Meeting with my group in class the first time allowed me to further narrow my focus, and meeting with them the second time helped me ensure that I was keeping my focus. The latter was especially hard for me because at first I was trying to juggle four different texts (the fourth being a student panel I attended) simultaneously. However once I realized how impractical that would be I decided on just using three texts: Densho, Roxworthy, and Capshaw. Finally, the editing of the blog though tedious was certainly an innovative and fun new way of using to technology and combination with our coursework!

    Torrey Tinney Summary

Torrey Tinney was able to fulfill the minimum requirements of creating one post per module, for a total of 5 blog posts for the semester. For Module 1, she discussed about the overview of what feminists before us have already done, leading to today’s feminine rights to vote. She talked mostly about the position of women in politics, which is appropriate for the readings of the first module. However, her explanations were more of a brief overview rather than a detailed one. She also didn’t provide any citations which made it seem like most of what she said was personal opinion. For her second post, she provided an excellent analysis of feminism and women of color. I liked how she connected it to the first module by using the Combahee River Collective…

The first primary text that I selected to teach my main idea is a text message between a friend and me. I decided to use this genre because it is the main source of communication between people today and how they express their concerns. The interaction in a text message can possibly amount to the length of a detail email. Yet, the communication is not as quick, an email takes longer to respond to. As I typed out the text message I made sure to inform my friend the importance of clarity and how it can impact the…

I absolutely loved this project and experience overall. We got the idea for this project after seeing the movie, "Freedom Writers". I went with three of my four other teammates to see it for our first paper and when we walked out, the three of us couldn't shut up about how much we loved and were inspired by the movie. On the way back from the movie, we got the idea to do a spin off of the movie for our project. The whole way home from the theater we were coming up with ideas for our upcoming project. When we finally began working on the project, it fell into place fairly well because we were so intrigued with the inspiration we each had. This project brought forward so many new aspects of teaching to my attention and really got me motivated…

In the writing process my greatest concern would be the revising phase. After my first draft is completed, I ought to make a decision ways to improve my writing. It requires looking at my writing at a different point of view. I need to analyze my writing to look for clarity and decide if I need to add information. Furthermore, I essentially need to decide if my writing peaks my reader’s interest and be believable. I have to look at my writing at a different point of view and APU writing center session suggested is to read my writing out loud during the revising phase for sentence structure clarity.…

Rader and Gilbert conducted a study aimed towards identifying the presence of an egalitarian relationship between therapist and clients when using the feminist approach during sessions. Being that egalitarian relationships are one of the main concerns in the feminist therapy approach, Rader and Gilbert observed counselors who identified themselves as being feminist therapist and determined if their clients’ perceived them in the same way. Their study included observations of how clients and therapist exercised their personal power throughout therapy sessions.…

Also, we work with the students to help them understand the materials taught by the teachers and help them with the work they have trouble understanding it.
