Stereotyping examples:
When facing the reality of becoming a college student. My perception was the overall experience will be easy. I have a background in computers, the career I am studying for I have trained on understanding the mind and motive for a criminal hacker to waste their talents. My downfall and stereotypical view was believing that I would be enlisted to a two year course that only covered hacking and prevention from it.
Limiting the problem unnecessarily
I have ruled out all of the essential steps of college without acknowledging that in order to engage in a career. it is important to transform my mind into a career state. Knowing the functions of software’s like Microsoft office and other methods put into being professional. thinking about sending emails invoices and creating analysis for other companies in a professional manner.
Saturation or information overload
I tend to find myself in the atmosphere of gathering too much information. Leading to not resolving the issue at hand. When more time is consumed gathering information beyond the need of a solution. You will find yourself face first in a combustion of frustration. I have spent months researching how to alter voices for recording audio. My result resorted to more questions. Hours into my research I have already discovered the solution but failed to acknowledge it.
Fear of risk taking
I faced the fear of risk taking with my music. Since my early teens I would always be complimented for the music I created. The conceptual aspect of my messages were flawless and creative. The fear came from my peers hearing the lectures of “you would never make it in the business you’re not cut out for it”. Or the slanders of “by the time your 20 years old you would be homeless on the street. Rapping for change without a degree strung out on drugs” these lectures instilled fear that even if I tried I would fail. it has impacted my life in a big way the fear of failing.
Lack of appetite for chaos
Coming from a poverty line of life I was different in the aspect of wanting to be better. My intentions of broadening the minds of my colleagues at the time. Led me to realize a single hero can’t save a world from sin without seeing the reach of the sinner’s hand.
Judging rather than generating ideas
I can remember having my first digital audio workstation and buying a pair of high quality headphones and breaking them. It was dropped on the floor I blamed my wife because we were play fighting. I became so frustrated that I could not think straight.
Lack of challenge
Sometimes challenges can be so easy that procrastination begins to play its part. I remember my relative asking me to help her move a mattress around in her home whenever I am available. This task was a piece of cake in my mind. Until I remember telling her she doesn’t need me to do it she can do it herself. I thought she was just being lazy but when I finally did it. The task wasn’t as easy as I thought the bed frame had to be disassembled and put back together once in its position. The angle of her room it was so awkward to shift things around. I lost a bet that day because I said the task would take ten minutes at most. The time it took me to finish it was actually two hours.
Inability to incubate
Last year I repaired my car I had to replace the lower control arm. The weather on the day I repaired it was heavy rain. I had a three hour window of no rain. By me rushing to do the job everything that could go wrong happened. Fitting the replacement part in didn’t happen how I envisioned it in my head. I was missing a tool to take off the whole piece and I got caught in the rain by the time I finished. it looked like I stepped out the washing machine half way through its cycle.

This feeling of fear may be more prevalent in people over a certain age or someone with physical or mental disability due to their own feelings of self-worth and level of understanding. This could also in part be down to the fact that something they have tried in the past may not have succeeded and so the levels of confidence in their own ability may have dropped affecting the way they look at risks as a negative experience.…

I hoped to gain a better knowledge of my least favorite subject to better prepare me for college and was not disappointed. It was the hardest class I’ve ever taken. I stayed awake late week nights to study. I was making Cs on tests for the first time, and I became discouraged at times. When I realized that I would not ‘get by’’ without a better study method, I forced myself to develop a more vigorous work ethic. It was miserable yet wonderful because in the long run I learned just how much I could achieve through determination.…
