DEATH PENALTY
Do you know how many people die in Canada every year . Over 500 people die from Murder every year. This is a very high rate since Canada's population is very small. The capital punishment of death penalty has a very clear connection with homicide rates. I think the death penalty should be legal in Canada. Since so many people are getting murdered and so many heinous criminals have the courage to kill someone they should get a taste of their own medicine and should be killed as brutally as they killed their victim. It takes only a $100 for a lethal injection and it takes over $47000 to keep someone in jail for a year. Multiply that with 25 and you $1175000 which are innocent citizens tax money which can go to something way better. $1175000 is only 25 years it's not even a life sentence. Which is another reason for the death penalty to be legal since canada's life sentence is only 25 years the criminals can come out of jail and try to hurt the victim's family for revenge.
My last and final argument just will bring the homicide rates a lot lower because if you make the death penalty legal in Canada. All the heinous people who would want to or think about committing this heinous crime will shiver with fear because they will know that the justice system has no sympathy for them. For example if you were a person who would want to murder someone you will definitely think what your punishment would be if you got caught which in 90% of the cases you do. If you were in your 20s or even 30s you wouldn't worry very much about the punishment since it will be only 25 years which is certainly not reasonable for murder and is a very low number of years to serve in prison for such a capital and serious crime.
