These are problems across a lot of countries, including ‘developed’ countries like New Zealand. Women who are denied an abortion are more likely to become unemployed, to be on public welfare, to be below the poverty line, and become victims of domestic violence. A university in California at San Francisco study found that women who were turned away from abortion clinics were three times more likely to be below the poverty level. Seventy six percent of the outcasts ended up on unemployment benefits compared with the forty four percent who had abortions. The same study found that women unable to have an abortion were more likely to stay in an abusive relationship than a woman who had an abortion, and were more than twice as likely to become victims of domestic violence. If abortions were illegal what kind of life would the child have? Would the child have a good education? Would the child go to university get a good job stay out of trouble? In conclusion, I believe it is a woman’s choice whether she does get an abortion or not and you do not know her reasons, so no one should be allowed to decide this for them, otherwise harmful abortions will keep killing and harming women or if they keep the baby it can be emotionally and physically harmful for the
