However even with all this evidence in place it is important that more than one person makes the decision and actions needed. For example, if a child discloses something to a member of staff and requests that it is kept confidential it is important to initially inform the child that it may have to be passed on, at this point you should risk assess the situation and decide whether the child is in harm or not.
