Chico and the Man is a comedy in the 70’s that shows how a grumpy old white man becomes friends with a Chicano. Ed Brown is the grumpy old man who owned and operated a filing station in Las Angeles. He hires a fast talking cherry young Chicano to help him run the station, he eventually lets him live in the station and they both learn about each other’s generation and culture and learn how to love each other. It shows situations on how a Mexican and white people can live and work together. There were both male and female actors in this the females had smaller roles than the males.

Welcome Back Kotter is a show that has a Mexican, a black, a Jew, an Italian, and White students. The teacher teaches in Brooklyn and faces daily conflicts and how they overcome them. It speaks about all the different races and the day to day problems they encounter and how the teacher explains to them how to handle the situations in a good way and with no violence.
The teacher also has to deal with racism in the classroom and he settles them down and talks with them so they can all be friends and understand about each other’s race and how they can be together. There are female and male roles and the female roles were smaller than the males.

The Cosby Show, is a show about the successful life of an African American family and the daily life situations they must overcome in order to become peaceful. This was a popular role for men as well as women as the parents we both successful and had upstanding jobs for African
