From his house, Adam grabbed three guns; a semi-automatic AR-15 assault rifle made by Bushmaster and pistols made by Glock and Sig Sauer. He continued to go to the elementary school wearing black clothes and a military vest. Approximately 700 students were present on December 14, 2012 and classes were scheduled as normal. As Adam tried to get into the school, the doors were locked. Earlier this year, the school principal, Dawn Hochsprung, ordered a new security system installed that required visitors to be visibly identified and buzzed in. As part of the security system, the school locked its doors each day at 9:30 a.m after the main rush of students and parents arrive to the school. Adam Lanza didn’t let this stop him; he shot through the locks and killed the principal and the school psychologist. Adam Peter Lanza and his mother lived in Sandy Hook, 5 miles from the elementary school where the shooting occurred. Adam did not have a criminal record. Adam showed an interest in violent video games. Have Adam not seen the violent video games there would have been a good chance that Adam may have not shot up the school. In america it is extremely easy to purchase firearms because of the second amendment. Adam's mother was said to have around 4 firearms in the house at the time. If Adam's mother have had a safe with a lock on the firearms or if there were stricter firearm laws Adam would have never been able to acquire one to shoot the school. Since the guns were easily accessible Adam Lanza succeeded in killing his mother and 26 other students. It was also reported that in the town (New Town) that Adam was living in at the time there were many gun owners influencing the society to also have/use guns. One problem that may have caused Adam to do what he did was enrolling Adam in the I.E.P program. This is believed to be a problem because Adam was not exposed to other children as much not seeing the culture of other children. If Adam was part of a class with more children he may have changed his…

After leaving 27 dead, including his own mother, twenty children, and six faculty members, twenty-year-old Adam Lanza shot himself in the head when he heard the sounds of policemen arriving at the elementary school. Despite no criminal activity, Lanza was described as being an introverted student in high school, yet extremely intelligent with robotics and computers. Many speculate that the shooting was triggered by possible bouts with schizophrenia or Asperger's. Others say that while the mentally ill do engage in acts of violence, the murders could have been linked to anything from social issues to the fact that Nancy Lanza, the shooter's mother, was speculated to be a doomsday prepper in response to that she kept stockpiles of guns in her basement. Whatever the cause, the shooting simultaneously disgusted and devastated children and their parents, who sympathetically were worried for the safety of future…

Columbine is based upon years of research and hundreds of eyewitness accounts in an attempt to recreate the lives of the two perpetrators who carried out one of the worst school massacres in American history: Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. On April 20th, 1999, before turning their weapons on themselves, Eric and Dylan managed to kill 13 people and wound dozens of others in the horrific tragedy. Dave Cullen spent years of research and interviewing in a hope to shed light on the motives and perspectives of the killers. Often times the media will jump to conclusions and a consensus before there is sufficient evidence to make a factual stable claim. Cullen discredits almost all previous motives and causes to the shootout which were sugarcoated by the media and the press. He believes that although the two killers may have faced bullying, that was not the sole case. In fact, he claims that they may have in fact had psychological issues to begin with.…

Adam Lanza walked into this school loaded with ten thirty-round magazines for his Bushmaster .223 caliber model XM15 rifle and bullets for two handguns and a shotgun. Lanza, along with twenty-six others never made it home alive. Twenty of those were children aging between six and seven and were shot dead in less than five minutes (Candiotti, Botelho, and Watkins). Also, not only did Lanza kill twenty-six people at Sandy Hook, but he also murdered his own mother, Nancy Lanza. What was Lanza’s motivation? This question still goes unanswered. Though there have been many allegations as to why he would do something so terrifying, some believe that Adam murdered as an act of revenge. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told the news that he was bullied in school. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin Lafontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s (Lysiak and Shaprio). Other assumptions of why he killed were that he was afraid of his mother committing him to a psychiatric facility because she just could not handle him at home anymore. He felt that she loved the children in that class more than him…
