Premarital Sex
Premarital sex is a common question among teens and engaged couples. You are probably thinking about the positive and negative aspects about it . On the positive finding acceptance from your friends, partner and hope for pleasure . On the negative side pregnancy , sexual transmitted diseases , guilt and morals are part of it.
Premarital sex runs th risk of conceiving illegitimate children. Numerous scientific studies show that the children of single mothers suffer psychologically and are less succesful socially and academically than children from intact families . It is wrong to risk having children who will never have their fathers love , protection and care.
In my personal opinion everyone must wait untill marriage in order to have sexual intercourse. People often confuse some terms that are related to this topic such as premarital sex , fornication and adultery.
Fornication is having premarital sex , adultery is married people having sexual intercourse with another person that its not their partner.
Why do i think premarital sex is not the right decision ?
There are many reasons why sexual intercours can wait until you are married.
After watching unmarried people having unwanted pregnancies , children from parents that dont want them , and children from parents that are not prepared to have them , I assume premarital sex is a controversial issue nowadays and we can see it everyday on the newspaper , Television , in our families , our society.
Imagine for a moment a world without premarital sex, there woulde be no STD's , there would be no unwed mothers or unwanted pregnancies.
Did you know that 50% of people who curently have HIV are between ages 15 and 24 ? Wearing condoms only reduces the risk of contracting HIV by 85 % . Condoms do not significantly reduce the risk of contracting other sexually transmitted diseases.
Girls can get pregnant or catch an STD the first time they have intercourse even if they wear protection , there is always a risk.

The predominant view of our culture is that marriage is a covenant of sexual faithfulness, excluding other sexual relationships only while it is in force. There is therefore nothing inherently wrong with pre-marital sex, from a legal viewpoint, as it does not break the marriage covenant. As a Christian, one may rightly argue that pre-marital sex is unwise, in that it may reduce one's capacity for intimacy with one's future marriage partner. However if he or she accept this definition, he or she will have difficulty explaining why it is wrong in an absolute sense. Others will see he or she as out of step with the majority view in contemporary western culture that pre-marital sex is useful in testing a relationship prior to making a long-term commitment. Contemporary culture still tends to see marital infidelity as wrong, but sees pre-marital sex as something quite different.…

Many of us older adults can remember back to when we were teenagers and dating who we felt was our first love. I can remember very vividly my boyfriend wanting to have sex, and him telling me, “Oh, you won’t get pregnant the first time.” I am sure this has been said many times over the years when one partner wanted to have sex with the other, and many times, the statement has been proven wrong. This is a time in which critical thinking should have occurred.…

The presence of pre-marital sex among teenagers in today's generation cannot be ignored. Instead of trying to discount the number of teenagers that participate in pre-marital sex, society should go with a more realistic approach and educate them about birth control and therefore, there will be fewer necessary abortions. Educating today's youth about abortion and birth control will conjure ideas in them at a young age. With education comes knowledge, and with knowledge comes acceptance. Greater accessibility…

In a hyper-sexualized society that continues to thrive as each day passes, the thought of unprotected sex has lost the shock value it once possessed. It is now considered normal to hear teenagers bragging about not only their conquests but the unprotected sex they are having. "She let me go in raw" or "I told him not to use a condom" are just a couple of the phrases one can hear when listening to these conversations. Unprotected sex as it relates to teenagers has become a big problem in the world today for two main reasons which are lack of education and lack of concern. Many are simply unaware of all the choices available in regards to protection for safe sex. There are vast…

This is a topic that for many years has fueled heated debates both personally and politically. Throughout the years many have made decisions that were later changed by someone else. In my personal opinion, I believe this type of education is just as important as the regular curriculum in every school today. Much attention is placed upon educating adolescents about the prevention of pregnancy, but discussion about pregnancy and what happens after pregnancy is just as crucial in helping teens in the United States make better decisions about sex. When I began reading the information available to write this paper, it was absolutely staggering to see the statistics and read the stories of the youth of the United States.…

In terms of the Christian point of view, there are several verses from the bible to prove that sex before marriage is wrong. "…The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body" (1 Corinthians 6:13). Verse 18 of this chapter goes on to say, "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are…

Sex, or the lack there of, will always be a topic among teens. Teens date, and teens have relationships. Most of these relationships will inevitably come to a point where one must chose whether to seize the moment and have sex with their partner, or they will set standards ahead of time saying they will not have sex until marriage. Every teen is either on one side of the fence or the other; they either will have premarital sex, or they will abstain. These two stances shed light on why sex is out of control today, what the world thinks about sex, and what religion says about sexual immorality. The facts are evident: teens have sex. It seems almost impossible to calculate the number of teens who are actually having premarital sex, because, of course, they don't wish to confess. Some teens though, have no choice but to confess because their actions lead to severe consequences such as pregnancy. Forty-three Percent of adolescent women become pregnant at least once before age 20 (Internet 1). That fact alone concludes that the choice of waiting for sex is in close running with the choice of not waiting. In the United States alone, more than 2,800 adolescents become pregnant each day. 1,300 of these girls give birth, 1,100 have abortions, and 400 have miscarriages (Internet 1). These astounding facts prove that sex may be considered out of control among teens today. In the olden days, around the Victorian period, sex was far from the topic that it is today. Also, during this time premarital sex was unthinkable. What happened between then and now that caused such an uproar? The world says that sex has become out of control because it was hushed for so long. But, for the last 20 years, sex has most defiantly not been hushed. If hushing up had been the cause of the trouble, ventilation would have set it right. But it has not (Lewis 92). As the world talks more and more about sex, and as the consequences of pregnancy Page 1 decrease through birth control methods, the issue…

Fornication isn’t merely “premarital.” Premarital is the language of timing, and with it we infer that this is simply the marital act misfired at the wrong time. But fornication is, both spiritually and typologically, a different sort of act from the marital act. That’s why the consequences are so dire.…

    Pre-Marital Sex in America

In the Bible, we find instruction, along with real life experiences relating to sex and marriage. The Bible contains a lot of insight on intimate passion and how to please your husband or wife. To engage in sexual activity with your significant other in a covenant marriage is supposed to be a totalizing experience; it should be done in regards to not only reproduction, but also to the enjoyment of both people involved. When sexual intercourse is wholehearted in pleasing both yourself and your partner, and erotic emotion invades every part of your body and soul, we actually think about what we are doing and the person we are doing it with. This is a totalizing sexual experience. But there are plenty of married couples who do not have this experience. On the other hand, there are many unwed, Christian couples who do. If you do not need to be married to have a strong relationship with God, and if you do not need to be married to have a fulfilling sexual experience with your partner, why is pre-marital sex frowned upon?…
