This style is an objective analysis of the law providing a neutral analysis that thoroughly addresses all sides of an issue and provides the attorney with guidance on how the court may resolve the issue. [10] A persuasive writing style is mainly used in court briefs. A court brief is design to persuade and convince the court to adopt a position or take an action that is favorable to the client. [11] The drafting of the office memo and the court briefs are similar in many respects but the major difference between the two is the orientation of the presentation. [12] An office memo (predictive writing) is designed to inform while a court brief (persuasive writing) is designed to
