Predator-Prey Simulator Family Structure
The predator/prey simulator family design has three modules. The modules are Data Collection, Calculations, and Output. Data collection and Output’s code will remain constant across the different families. The items, which change with family, will be housed in the calculations module. We will be using a generator design to generate family members. The AML will be used to define a family member and the code for that member should be generated using the Predator/Prey Object Generator (PPOG).

In vial one, a wild type hyper female Drosophila and wild type mellow male Drosophila were crossed respectively to determine the dominant behavioural phenotype. The first reciprocal cross was then carried out in vial two to define whether or not the behavioural phenotype is x-linked recessive. According to the results obtained from vial one, when the wild type hyper female and wild type mellow male was crossed, the resulting offspring’s phenotypes were all wild type hyper. This cross shows that the hyper behavioral phenotype can be considered dominant in comparison to mellow.…

    Trophic Cascade Essay

    • 514 Words
    • 3 Pages

A trophic cascade is defined as ecological changes such as alterations in species abundance or composition, nutrient concentrations of plants, and the physical structure of the vegetation and environment. After wolves were eradicated from Yellow Stone National Park it caused a collapse in the tri-trophic cascade of predators, prey, and vegetation. They were reintroduced to restore the cascade that was present in the past to the park. The reintroduction of the wolves resulted in a major decline in the overall populations throughout the park. They also exhibited altered behavior by changing the intensity and location when feeding. This resulted in increased plant biomass and recruitment of a variety of woody plants. The increased forest cover and forage results in increased species diversity…

As one might expect from activist groups, their focus is on civic engagement, demanding not the mere consumption of history, but citizens taking active roles to determine how and what is remembered. Undoubtedly, the need to break with civic passivity "inspired by communism" emphasizes both the discursive transfer of knowledge and the opportunities for incarnated experiences of "normal" life during communism. The latter involves commemorative performances, such as queuing to buy bananas in socialist-style fruit stands, which re-invoke how time was "captured" by the socialist state and the resulting struggles to acquire basic consumer goods (Verdery, 1996) . In a similar vein, Opona plans to create a Totalitarian Simulator, a "large-scale interactive…

In this practical, the teleostic model of Zebrafish, also called Danio rerio, was examined in its various stages of neurulation. The Zebrafish model is beneficial to experiments like this one for a number of reasons, the most major one in this experiment being its short life cycle. The life cycle of a Zebrafish is extremely short, lasting only 90 days. This fact is important as in the practical that was carried out, the majority of the neurulation of the Zebrafish can be observed in a number of hours as within the first 24 hours after fertilisation, the formation of the zygote, cleavage, blastulation, gastrulation and segmentation can each be observed. The size of the Zebrafish embryo is important as well, as the large diameter of 0.7mm egg,…
