Major Marketing Strategy

Marketers can use the Marketing Mix model as a tool to assist in defining the marketing strategy. Marketing managers use this method to attempt to generate the optimal response in the target market by blending four variables in an optimal way.

The 4p’s are:

Product: Anything that can be offered to a market for attention, acquisition or consumption that might satisfy a want or need. It consists of variety, quality, design, features, brand name, packaging, & services of the product.

Price: The amount of money charged for a product or service, or the sum of the values that consumers exchange for the benefits of having or using the product or service. It includes the list price, discounts, allowances, payment period, credit terms, transportation & logistics.

Place: A method to distribute an offering among the target customers. Channels, coverage, assortment, location, inventory, transportaion & logiistics are associated with it.
