Plan and prepare play and learning activities for children
The preparation and completion of activities to suit the child's stage of development.
Health and safety
Provide an environment that is warm, welcoming and stimulating
Sharing information and maintaining confidentiality
Providing conscientious and effective supervision of the children.
Carry out and record observations of children as part of key worker role
Maintain records – accident, incident and risk assessment records
To ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing.
Washing and changing children as required.
To interact and engage with the children.
Carrying out personal care
To work under the guidance and supervision of workplace staff.
To report any concerns to your supervisor/manager
Be proactive, effectively interact and communicate with children and staff and be actively involved in activities with children
To observe staff and good practice
To be prepared for workplace assessment
You should talk to your supervisor/manager if you do not feel confident in carrying out particular tasks
Do not be afraid to ask questions
To notify the appropriate person at your placement if you are not able to attend with as much notice as possible

Liaise with parents
Work alongside parents of children with additional needs (physical, emotional) to give full integration in the Nursery.
