Practicing Nursing Practices

Lisa, I want to thank you for your post. Practicing nurses must be sure that the interventions they use are based on solid evidence. Through continuing education, practicing nurses can become aware of the research on performing activities. As nurses we have a responsibility to be researchers. As nurses we should collect and share evidence of methods of practice and measure outcomes of these practices. In working with patients and watching other nurses working with patients I concluded that some patients did not understand medical terms. After watching their reactions to certain medical terms I can tell that these patients had no idea what I was talking about.
