Practice Makes a Man Perfect
Practice makes a man perfect!
“With persistence, one can get the hardest rock with the softest rope and with practice the heaviest brain likewise becomes super brilliant”
Practice is the act of rehearsing a behavior over and over while Perfection is, broadly, a state of completeness and

flawlessness. One has to follow certain qualities to be perfect. These are strong will-power, tolerance, positive approach, faith, hard work, and dedication. One should not stop practicing and be satisfied until one achieves perfection. Practice begins in the cradle and ends in the grave. Right from childhood, man practices various activities like talking, reading, writing etc. The child practices speaking first before learning the alphabets, then words, then sentences and finally the speech. Thus the same method applies to other areas too. The more one practices, the fewer mistakes one makes. Practice is important not only in fields like sports, music or art it’s also important in almost every activity, be it cooking or shooting. A person cannot be perfect in every sphere of life. It is quite natural to have certain flaws. But one can practice repeatedly and lessen them.

Practice enables a person to reach the heights of success in all walks of life. While practice is a conscious act, it’s ignition is the result of some subconscious force that leads us to say ‘that is who I want to be’. Thus, it is practice that makes a man perfect who can face every challenge in his life. Eishita Mehta 11T

Author Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow." I think that Emerson is trying to say that if one never tries to exceed their limits they will never grow. Mastering something is an accumulation of things, as time progresses you build on what you have learned and what you know. I agree with Emerson because he or she will never know what they are capable of, he or she will make more money if make more money if they master something, and they may regret their decision. If one does not try they may never know what they are capable of. If I stopped trying I would not be able to do basic math, but because I kept trying I am now in advanced math. Many great scientist,…

I don't believe practice makes perfect, but I do believe you can get better by practicing. Also, I don't think you can ever fully master a skill. You can be really good or amazing at what you do, but not perfect. If it is a learned skill, perfection is based on opinion. Everyone’s perspective of perfect is different. For example at a gymnastics competition all three judges at each event have different perspectives of what perfect is. In baseball, the umpire has to judge the pitch whether it is a strike or not. So the pitcher tries to meet the umpire’s perspective of a perfect pitch.…

My greatest weakness is the fear that anything less than perfection is failure. No matter how many people tell us that “nobody’s perfect” or “just try your best” I cannot seem to wrap my head around those concepts because perfection is the ultimate achievement. Without perfection, there would be nothing to strive for, whether it be on a test or in life. Throughout my educational career, I have always had straight A’s and great test scores because of this idea of perfection being the highest degree of excellence which everyone in society attempts to attain. I believed in the false notion that perfection was the only thing to strive for. However, after reading the transcendentalist views of Emerson and Thoreau, it raised a thought-provoking…

Ralph Emerson, a well respected author, once stated that if you only practice what you have mastered, then you'll cease to develop as a person. Many choose to disagree with this by saying how you'll never master any task with focusing on others or how you'll lose the skills that you have spent the time and effort on obtaining. Though this is true, this point of view is a bit misguided. Emerson did not mean you would become a master of every task, but that you'd have an expansive range of abilities to be able to survive in any situation. This statement, as most would agree, is correct because of how you'd have the abilities to survive in life, you'd have more options in where you'll go in life, and your abilities in tasks can still be exceptional.…

Coyle explains that Deep practice is a neurological mechanism in which certain patterns of target practice build skill. Deep practice has five steps. First, you must set a goal within reach, and see what the result will look like. It is crucial that you are motivated to achieve the goal. Next, you must operate at the edge of your ability in order to make mistakes. In addition, once you make a mistake, you must stop, notice your mistake, and slow down to correct the mistake. Finally, you must divide your objective into small goals to…
