Prachao Taksin Maharat, King of Thonburi

For the United States, they had good leaders like John F, Kennedy and Martin Luther King who made important contributions to their people. Same as Thailand, we also had a plenty of good leaders like King Taksin Maharat who fought against Burmese to take Thailand back from them and reunited Thai people. That is why I consider him as an important leader because without him, there would not be Thailand today.
King Taksin Maharat was born during late Ayutthaya period. At that time, Ayuthaya was a capital city of Siam or Thailand at the present time. Where there is a prosperity, there also is a fall, referring that after a long period of Prosperity, Ayuthaya came to an end when Burmeses came to destroy the city and rob everything back to their home even Siamese people. Praya Tak, at that time, fled into a forest. After Burmese soldiers went back home, Praya Tak tried to gather the left Siamese people for as many as possible. After he got a large army and large number of Siamese people, he established a new capital city called Khung Thonburi, made himself as King Taksin and declare independent from Burma.
King Taksin was an only king of Khung Thonburi period. During his period, he governed his state using own system of Ayuthaya. Moreover, he created bigger and bigger army by reuniting other states as one country in order to protect itself from Burmese who still fought with Siamese. Even there were a lot of wars, King Taksin also considered about his people life. He tried to strengthen relationship with China in order to make trade with them for Siamese people.
For these reasons mentioned above, it is why I consider King Taksin as a great leader of Thailand in the past. I and Thai people always think about how brave and great he was in order to let us have place to live. Therefore, Thai people proudly give Maharat after his name to show his
