Power In Loa She's Rickshaw Boy

A patriarchal society can be described as a society that is heavily male dominant, with women having very limited authority and entitlement. In a male dominated society, women are usually depicted as feckless and usually are not given much thought off while writing. However, in Loa She’s novel Rickshaw Boy, She depicts the female characters as powerful and influential.
The most significant character with the most significant amount of power is the character Huniu. Huniu's power is symbolized by the simile She writes to describe her; "... Like a big black pagoda!" Throughout the novel, Huniu is described as an unusual and intimidating woman which is significant because in the Chinese culture, are usually small and petite. Huniu's intimidating
