Positive Role Model Analysis

My leadership role right now makes a difference, because I’m seen as a positive role model. I’m a program instructor and positive role model to dozens of kids enrolled in the Big Buddy Program. Most people believe that I’m just a babysitter, but I disagree, because I love every child that steps through that door and I do my best to let every child know that they’re loved and that I’ll always be here for them good or bad. As a role model I create a relationship with every child especially the ones in my class, because I want them to know that if something is wrong they can come to me. I truly stand by the saying no child left behind, because I feel that they won’t have the same opportunities as other children if they’re left behind. Whether it’s a game, homework, or even carpool, when I say carpool that means I wait till every last child is gone before I leave, because I truly care about those children and I want them to know that. One coworker asked me why do I still stay even though I’m not getting paid for it? I replied by saying It’s not about the money it’s apart of my job and I love the children as if they’re my own to leave them there even though there's 1 or 2 staff members left.

Of course most of the children chose a famous basketball player, football player, singer, or rapper, but 2 kids stood out to me when we were sharing. One kid told me they would be their mother, because she works hard to take care of her and her siblings and she makes sure they have everything they need. The second kid told me they would be me, because I help them with their homework, I play sports with them, I’m smart, and I’m nice even though I fuss sometimes. That answer and explanation made my day and I couldn’t help but smile harder than I usually do and I even laughed at the last
