This can make a large impact on many hospitals especially those who cannot staff enough based on how many patients they have. Over the years, there has been a 35% decrease in patients average length of stay and 30% less deaths than anticipated due to telemedicine. Although there are many positive attributes to telemedicine and the influence that it creates onto patients and those in the health care community, there are also some negative ones as well. For those who live in rural areas and countries, telemedicine allows them to maintain their health and be able to ask questions if there are any concerns. Although there are still many different challenges that need to be met, telemedicine will continue to influence patients and physicians. Visiting physicians at their offices will not dwindle away with the uplifting of telemedicine. Many patients like to have the physician-patient relationship, therefore, if health care providers can identify ways to implement the relationship between patients and physicians including ways to conduct respiratory checks every so often, and skin checks. Although these medical conditions will be very difficult to identify and measure via the web, phone, or webcam, being creative some providers may find a way.
