Neutrogena Skin Clearing Foundation

Torrey Potestato

When choosing which makeup is best for you, sometimes it can be quite a challenge. Personally, I am very picky about the makeup that I apply to my face daily. With experimenting different brands and their products, I finally came across Neutrogena’s Skin Clearing liquid foundation. This cover up was designed for women who are looking for an all over coverage but at the same time, avoiding any annoying present or future breakouts. Its shine-free, natural coverage that lets your skin breathe and won't clog pores. Neutrogena Skin Clearing foundation provides that natural look, yet at the same time, providing you with that breathable feeling. Micro Clear technology treats and helps prevent breakouts. This product controls shine and won't clog pores.
Neutrogena’s foundation has 12 varied shades to complement your personal skin complexion. Neutrogena Skin Clearing oil-free makeup is the first and only liquid foundation formulated with Micro Clear technology to not only treat blemishes, but to also help prevent emerging breakouts. Micro Clear technology boosts the power of salicylic acid by breaking through oil and unclogging pores for fast acne relief. The reasoning behind Neutrogena’s “Skin Clearing product is due to the salicylic acid ingredient. The salicylic acid prevents you from breaking out and also clears up present acne. This product is for women who are looking for a great foundation that won’t clog pores. It won’t clog pores because it is lightweight and not too heavy, which can be harsh on oily skin. Women with oily skin should really consider this product because not only will they be covering any blemish’s but at the same time they will be treating and preventing themselves from any future acne. I am on my third bottle of this product, and I absolutely love it! It consists of good shade selection, along with controlling oil all day long. It does not make me break

The fancy ingredients like Progenium XY technology, which added to the moisturizers do not work and little more increasing the price of the product. Theses expansive creams are replicated to your own kitchen with simple water and oil mix. “There are 3 groups of ingredients in moisturizing creams that is powerful chemicals, cooked and mashed up vegetable proteins and esoteric ingredients” (Goldacre, 2011, pp. 24-25). The powerful chemical is ineffective because they are at such a low concentration to eliminate chemical burn that they don’t even work. The eventual proteins do work but for the very short time until the ingredient is washed off the face. Esoteric ingredients tossed in that aid the companies in fooling their customers for example molecular components. “Goldacre sites in an example that salmon DNA being added into a cream is being useless because the skin does not absorb molecule as our DNA. Also, if we were to absorb salmon DNA, it would be ineffective because our DNA produces human cells and salmon DNA produces fish cell which is not useful for our body” (Goldacre, 2011, p.26). Many companies claim that moisturizing cream provide oxygen to your skin. Many of the creams contain hydrogen peroxides. In…
