To beat your rival is the greatest feeling in sports, because it gives the victor this type of swagger and bragging rights for the team/city that carries throughout the rest of the season. But it doesn’t just matter about the players and the results, but as a franchise of the Portland Timbers it can reach a new level with the adding of the fans, the stadium and the environment of the city on game day. The Timbers even have a saying A.C.E.S (Any City Except Seattle), which really portrays the hatred between these two clubs. The energy shouted out by the hundreds of members of the Timber Army is a serious Intimidation factor for the opposing team.
