Polyneices In Antigone
In Antigone, both brothers, Polyneices and Eteocles are different in many ways. Firstly, Polyneices is courageous and powerful. Polyneices is powerful because before he died he wanted to be the king of Thebes, when he was thriving and working hard to be the king he died. That tells us that he is strong, courageous, and powerful, also determined. Secondly, Eteocles is the opposite of his brother Eteocles. Eteocles is cruel and evil, and selfish.Firstly, because he killed his brother just so he could be the king instead of his brother Polyneices. These are some things that make them opposite of each other and that they differ.

Antigone and Ismene also show different characteristics in the story. Firstly, Antigone is strong, loyal, kind, and determined. She is determined and strong because she went alone to bury her brother Polyneices. She went to bury Polyneices because she said that he deserves it and she didn't want her brother to rot and be eaten by the ants. Secondly, Ismene is timid and follows the rules. For example, when Antigone asked her if she would come and help her bury their brother Ismene immediately said no. That shows that she follows the rules …show more content…
Firstly, because they both showed bravery and honor. For example, Antigone showed braveness when she went alone to bury her brother when he died, and she knew she could die . Also Polyneices showed bravery and strongness when he went and battled for the throne to be the kind of Thebes.That showed courage and bravery.Also Eteocles and Ismene are disgraced because both of them were un brave and timid. Firstly, when Antigone went to ask her if she would come and help her she was scared and said no. That doesn't show bravery and honor to her brother. Secondly, Eteocles is selfish and evil because he wanted the throne before his brother so bad that it made Polyneices die.In conclusion all of the four children have similarities and alot of things that

    One theme that is present in both books is pride. Antigone has a lot of pride. She goes against what the government says and buries her brother. She has pride in what she did. Antigone says, "I won 't insist, no, even if you should have a change of heart, I 'd never welcome you in the labor"(Sophocles 63). She wants to be know for what she did. She also says, "Dear God, shout it from the rooftops. I 'll hate you all the more for silence" (Sophocles 64).
