But some things I learned are how fast food is very beneficial to Americans not only being cheap but also having fast service and having a drive thru so you don't even have to get out of your car and have many other things to serve the costumer as well as they can. Altho fast food is good and beneficial in a lot of ways it is also bad. Like the health concerns and how most of the food on the menu is very high in saturated fat and sugar which can cause diabetes. Another important thing is how fast food came to us and how it got started and how it became popular world wide. Fast food has been apart of the U.S.A for a very long time. The first fast food restaurant opened in the late 1800s and the first fast food restaurant was white castle. The it started getting popular when family owned buissnesses were grabbing hold of large franchises. Almost every restaurant shares the same logo,color scheme,design,and point of purchase advertising. A lot of different fast food restaurants started rivalry's like for example Burger King and McDonald's when McDonald's introduced the big mac in 1967 and then shortly after Burger King Introduced the whooper. They also targeted children by adding playgrounds and mascots to there restaurants such as Ronald McDonald and the Burger “King”. By the final decades of the twentieth century Americans had fully embraced their “fast food culture” in 1994 alone fast food restaurants in the united states sold over five billion hamburgers making it a favorite meal. There are a lot of benefits to fast food and there are a lot of health concerns too. Some of the fast food benefits are that fast food is very convenient when it comes to a fast low priced meal and because it is fast and low priced people keep buying it. They even made it so that you can get a meal faster by not having to get out of your car it just shows you that America is getting lazier and lazier.
