“What is a poisonous plant,” one may ask. A poisonous plant is a something that is a toxic and can be harmful to humans, animals, and even insects. Poisonous plants exist because they may benefit a species, but may also be harmful to others. Many noxious plants can result in immense pain, sickness, disease, and mortality. Some of these plants include: the Atropa Belladonna, Brugmansia, and Ricinus Communis. The Atropa Belladonna emanates from Eurasia, which is located northeast of the United States. Also referred to as the “deadly nightshade,” this poisonous plant contains tropane alkaloids, which is considered the “waste product of a plant” (Liabi, (n.d.).
