SEMI – DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS II

I. OBJECTIVES 1. Analyze word problems involving sum of arithmetic sequence. 2. Solve word problems involving sum of arithmetic sequence. 3. Relate solving word problems involving sum of arithmetic sequence in real-life situations.

II. SUBJECT MATTER Topic: Solving Word Problems involving Arithmetic Sequence Reference: Intermediate Algebra by Dilao and Bernabe Instructional Materials: DLP Projector (PPT Presentation), Cartolina Strips, Chalk, Blackboard, Drill Board

III. STRATEGIES A. Preparatory Activities 1. Opening Prayer 2. Greetings 3. Checking of Attendance 4. Energizer 5. Checking of Assignment

B. Review The teacher will ask the students to answer the following: a. What is the arithmetic mean between 9 and 49? b. Insert three (3) arithmetic means between 2 and 14.

C. Motivation The teacher will present a short math song to be sung by the students.

D. Lesson Presentation ➢ The teacher will ask the students to analyze the math problems stated in the math song presented to them. ➢ The teacher will post another problem and will let the students analyze it. Illustrative Example: 1. An auditorium has 20 seats on the first row, 24 seats on the second row, 28 seats on the third row, and so on and has 30 rows of seats. How many seats are in the theatre?
