When citing you are giving where you got the information so that the reader if need be could

In this article about plagiarism, paraphrasing, and summarizing, the basis is to understand why it’s important to know about all three. Plagiarism is a big problem that students have. Whether it’s intentional or not, it happens to the best of us. The best way to avoid plagiarizing a paper is to summarize what you have learned in your own words. It’s as if you are teaching someone who doesn’t know what you’re talking about. Making it as simple as possible is the key. This is where paraphrasing comes in. Although summarizing seems easy, you will need to paraphrase some things you have read. Paraphrasing helps build on what you have said in your paragraphs with more solid information. Plagiarizing happens when students forget to cite, or put quotation…

We all dream of being successful one day in our lives. We all have the loving support of all our friends and family to back us up on our journey to success, but sometimes that’s just not enough. Sometimes life gets rough and we fall under pressure. The pressure can be suffocating and we will be willing to do anything to escape the social corner we have been pushed into. Chris Spence is an example of this. He was a student at the University of Toronto that wanted nothing but to achieve his dream. Unfortunately, he chose the wrong path to travel down by plagiarising and now it is a possibility that his degrees could taken away. It would be ethical to have his degrees taken away.…

According to Webster dictionary, plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else’s ideas and passing them off as one’s own. In my research of looking up what plagiarism is, I found that there are several ways one can plagiarize. It is considered plagiarism when one copy and paste another person work, when one takes someone else idea and pass it on as their own and also when a person rewords another individuals work. The point that I do not understand is, if I reword something already wrote is that plagiarizing? When I’m doing research and I find something interesting and I use only a few words out the text is this plagiarism? I believe that plagiarism occurs mostly within school settings, because as a student, essays and research papers are required in most or all classes. The problem I have with trying not to plagiarize is when I have to write everything verbatim. Is rewording something already wrote plagiarizing? There are so many rules with plagiarizing how can I remember them all? I don’t feel as though rewording something already written should be considered plagiarizing. I believe I have great note taking skills but could use some help with citing my sources. I didn’t take plagiarism serious until I became a college student. I have been told that if someone commits plagiarism they can fail that class, be expelled, or even arrested. They should make rules of plagiarism more specific and narrow them down so that everyone not just professors will know the…
