Executive summary
This report provides a theoretical analysis on Pixar Animation Studio case. It is in-depth research of how motivational factors have been a leading point to increase Pixar’s management effectiveness and how their empowerment management strategy leads to its success. It uses various Organizational Behavior theories to evaluate practice of Pixar Animation Studios. The sources used to prepare this research report are various academic journals and mostly books related to organizational behavior. The different OB theories highlighted in this report shows that every organization must use these theories in order to achieve success. The first theoretical analysis section begins with an evaluation from the perspective of employee empowerment. The report reveals the features of Pixar’s empowerment management and creativity practices and their contribution to Pixar’s success. It proceeds to evaluate Pixar’s productivity from the point of view of emotional intelligence, attitudes and behaviors. The second sector presents a critical analysis on the practical usability and significance of Pixar’s practices explored in the previous section. It provides examples to support the arguments made. All these revolutionary theories that Pixar practically implements have aided Pixar in achievement of its success. This report sheds light on a few of Pixar’s approaches to creativity and evaluates their relevance from a real-world view point. Table of contents
