How Renovate Your Home While Keeping Your Piggy Bank Full | BAS
700-800
In 2012, there was an estimated 284 billion dollars spent on renovations in the United States aone. One thing that is having a big impact on the home improvement market is consumer demand for products that are environmentally friendly and leave less of a carbon footprint.
However, home upgrades and repairs can be expensive. The average cost of even a minor kitchen remodel is around $19,226, but a kitchen remodel is one of the top areas that will pay you back when selling a home.
If you’re on a budget like most people, then figuring out how to renovate your home without breaking the bank is a top priority. The following budget-conscious ideas will help you get the most bang for your buck.

Can you pull out flooring and do some of the demolition? If so, the contractor may knock some of the cost off of your renovation. Willing to paint? That can save you hundreds more. Talk to your contractor about your budget. He likely has more ideas for ways you can bring the cost down.
Pick Items Up
Instead of paying a delivery fee, pick items up yourself. Don’t own a truck? Do you have a friend or family member who does? Although the cost of one delivery might be minor, over the cost of the renovations, saving on multiple delivery fees can really add up to hundreds in savings.
Pick the Right Time of Year
Typically, contractor work slows down during the winter months. Try to schedule your renovations when contractors typically don’t have a lot of work and they may be more willing to negotiate on the price. Even if you’re gotten a quote before, go ahead and ask if they can come down on the price any. Even a 10% savings can result in thousands off the cost of a home renovation.

The Custom woodworking Company has been in the custom furniture business since the early 1950’s. Since their inception they have grown their business and reputation steadily. This growth has demonstrated a need for the company to expand its existing factory floor space. Also provided was a cost comparison of replacing these cheaper materials with material from Lowes (2010). A comparison of materials used for Oakwood homes (2000) versus Rockwell (2010) stick-built homes was shown. It was also stated and proven manufactured homes are not energy efficient. It was also explained what a big disadvantage and how difficult it can be for one to try to acquire a manufactured home loan; this showed how hard is it is for someone to try to resell one. Because of these disadvantages, it is proven that unless one is planning on a big financial commitment and plans on living in the home forever that people should not purchase a manufactured home. Goosens (2002) advises, before one goes and buys a manufactured home, one should consider the options of buying a higher priced home that will appreciate in value and last longer. When one is considering a manufactured home because these homes are cheaper and have more square footage, remember the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. Space is not everything and one needs to consider if the extra space is worth the extra costs that can be avoided by sacrificing a few square feet. People should ask themselves if they are ready for such a big financial…

Based on the information that was originally provided and after my analysis, it is recommended that Moore and the contractors renegotiate their contract. From the table attached at the end of recommendation, it is clear that houses will not be completed within or under 45 days. It is highly recommended that they change their contract to have the houses completed within 60 days. This gives everyone a little flexibility. Another idea might be for Moore to increase their bid and possibly add on a bonus for contractors who are able to complete their work on target, and give a little leeway for potential…
