Physician assistants are licensed practitioners that provide patient-centered care in various medical fields, under the supervision of a physician. PAs can treat patients, perform physical exams, prescribe medications, and provide medical education to patients. I strongly believe that as a graduate of Clarkson University Physician Assistant Studies program I will embody this definition.
The PA program at Clarkson University consists of an intense, but comprehensive, didactic and clinical curriculum that yields adept and compassionate physician assistants. This program focuses on learner-centered education which is key in developing autonomous providers. This distinction will positively influence my education as it will help cultivate an open and friendly environment, one in which I can prosper in as PA student. Moreover, as an active member of my community, I can confidently say that community service has played a big role in personal character development. For example, last spring I taught a short course in elementary engineering to middle-school children through an organization called JerseyStem. As an educator, I was able to teach, encourage, and inspire children, which furthered my desire to help others.
