I decided to follow my dream of being a physical therapist because I love to help people. The patients that I will see daily will vary, making my job interesting and eventful. I would never be bored with my job. It would feel fantastic to help somebody get proper control of their body again.
Physical therapists assist patients that have major or minor physical injuries or illnesses recuperate to their original range of movement. Physical therapists can also help patients control their pain. If there is a patient who has had an accident, is ill, or is older, then a physical therapist can help the patient get back to proper health. Students must have received a high school diploma. After high school, they must attend college where many classes are available for this specific skill. Some of the classes offered are advanced patient care techniques, pathokinesiology, trends in physical therapy, health science concepts, exercise psychology, clinical A&P, muscular and skeletal examination, health care and insurance systems, biostatistics research, PT pathology, and pharmacology. In order to become a physical therapist, you must have a bachelors in science, a masters in physical therapy, and a Ph.D. in physical therapy.
In order for you to be a wonderful physical therapist, you must have many different personality traits. A physical therapist should be very compassionate. They also need to be able to focus and pay close attention to detail. Some other traits that physical therapist must have are dexterity, stamina, and interpersonal skills.
For a physical therapist to be rightfully certified, they must have the proper licensure. A physical therapist in Tennessee must have the proper state licensure papers. They need to have passed their NPTE (National Physical Therapist Exam) and
A physical therapist must be fit in order to lift people. The minimum age to get into physical therapy school is 17. The minimum age to be a physical therapist is 21. Physical therapists need to have a proper mindset so they can help the patients to their best abilities. Some other requirements for physical therapists are for them to have quick reactions, concentration, and patience.
The average salary that a physical therapist makes in one year is $79,342. Depending on where they work, they can make more or less.
There are many different places of employment for a physical therapist. Some places in Tennessee are Martin, Union City, Jackson, Memphis, Nashville, or basically anywhere with a hospital.
There are many different types of skills that physical therapists need. Physical therapist need physical skills, behavioral skills, science skills, interpersonal skills, motor skills, and observational skills.
I have many different goals that I would like to accomplish during my career of being a physical therapist. One of my major goals is to help as many lives that I can. Even if I help just one life, then I will feel like I accomplished something. I want to be able to watch someone go from barely being able to walk to running a marathon. My overall goal I want to accomplish is to make sure I properly help everyone.
