Here we have an organization that was established on January 9, 1914 by three scholars attending Howard University who decided to organize a fraternity dedicated to the service of humanity. These three men, Abraham Langston Taylor, Leonard Frances Morse, and Charles I. Brown created Phi Beta Sigma. Throughout the years of committing a culture for service and service for humanity, Phi Beta Sigma has been a beacon of hope, operating inclusive as opposed to exclusive, they have demonstrated a strong brotherhood in our communities, in our society, and in many lives they reach out to everyday. Its values support the culture of “service” which comes in all aspects of the word. Their ideal of scholarship represents the belief structure that has been embedded in every man and woman since birth. Every parent has expressed the importance of a proper education, treating people with respect, and that knowledge equals success to their child.
