Violence and Murder

I will be talking about the violence and murders in my community. In today’s world we live around it. It may not be at my front door but it affects me and my community in some type of way. When you are scared to go shopping at a certain time of the night or stop at a store to get gas. That is when you know it is serious. A lot of people are killing each other, robbing each other etc. they would rather rob, or kill someone for it and spend the rest of their life in jail paying for it. “Gun related violence is most common in poor urban areas and frequently associated with gang violence, often involving male juveniles or young adult males.” Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 2006 I became a victim of a robbery. I was walking into a store that was in an unfamiliar area, while walking towards the store in the daytime a guy snatched my purse. I was also pregnant at the time. My purse was found but my money was gone. I was thankful that he didn’t kill me and my unborn child. Till this day, the guy has not been caught.
Every time you turn on the news now, a body is found, someone has been robbed or something to that nature. It just doesn’t make any sense. Some cities here are better than others. Overall where I live is a great place for a family, every now and then you may run across some bad news, but not often.
Time has changed so much. It is not nearby how is when I was a child. You can go out and party and come home in one piece, now you go out you have to watch your surroundings and just pray for safety. It is really too much foolishness going on in today’s world. I try my best to educate my children about the world we live in today and get them ready for the world and continue to have a positive attitude. I also teach them not to be like the next person, be better than that person.
If the system did not allow underage children to drop out of school, a lot of the violence wouldn’t be happening today. By dropping out of school

If people help the youth from escaping violent encounters by talking to others, there may be no need for an attack on gun violence (“Six Proven 13). If the police and principals show how to negotiate, they will have a higher chance of escaping a situation and not using a gun instead (“Six Proven 13”). Most youth who commits a crime are drop-outs. Gun violence is one main thing that tears families apart. Crazy, non-educated people roam the streets with dangerous weapons killing people and causing tragedies. Society would have done better if only police had the access to weapons and guns instead of civilians and criminals, although they could be confiscated. Gun violence incidents have been happening for a very long time, most of the time without a reason. Shootings, robberies, etc. all include the use of a weapon like a gun. These things happen every day. For example, if someone is trying/planning on killing someone, they won’t be able to do that without a weapon. Guns are meant for self-defense, people like gangsters don’t use them the way they’re supposed to be used, but why? Using them not the right way will get them in trouble and do nothing but get them thrown in jail, just use guns in the proper form, for self-defense, not homicidal kills. It is important to always stay cautious of your…

Many families do not keep their guns in safe places that children couldn’t reach. For example, in South Carolina a 2-year-old shot his grandmother in the back while she was riding in the back seat of the car the child found the gun in the back of the front seat and shot his grandmother. Since children don’t know the concept of killing and harming people they have injured and killed many people, even children have killed their own parents and siblings. For example, a child shot his father in an event where many people were present. These kinds of incidents have happened many times because the parents didn't pay attention to the consequences of keeping guns. Not keeping guns in a safe place where children can't reach can result in familie’s own…

I am not ignorant to the fact that there is violence and a lot of it; however, I was not aware that 33,880 people die from gun violence in one year. I was raised in a great environment growing up that was in a great part of town, which was safe. I did not have to worry about going outside to play and possibly getting shot wile I was outside. A lot of kids are not that luck. Over the last year, I have been concerned over the events that have been shaking the foundation of this country, young kids going on a rampant killing spree and some even taking their own life. Violence has taken over our schools, our streets and the government does not seem to get a grip of control over the situation, promises in political campaigns, and after elections, we do not see a difference. In 2012, this country ended a difficult year with the Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre, where 26 innocent lives were lost as a result of a maniac armed with his mother’s gun.…

Socialization is what allows us to be skilled in the ways of the culture we were born into, however, if violence is what one was born into or grew up into that is what they will learn and do. The very fabric of our community has changed, violence has become acceptable by many due to its fast increasing rate but we have to do better (Hackney, 2011). Numerous crimes in neighborhoods destroy socialization although violence is not taught among cultures it could be acquired by its young members if seen promoted by older adults. During adolescence is when youths are developing and exploring new ways of socializing with older adults and that could be dangerous if they are hanging out with the wrong crowd. Young people are highly influenced by their surroundings and if violence is promoted that is what they will learn as a result.…
