Pharmaceutical Sellers
Many Americans believe that a pill can solve every problem in the world. Many Americans are not properly educated when getting prescribed pills. Pills can be very dangerous and can lead to many problems late in life. Pharmaceutical sellers need to check and provide an 100% accurate source of information about the pill they are about to prescribe. Pharmaceutical sellers also need to make sure a pill is the last resort to solving a problem.

Representing the side for prescription usage is Dr. Christopher Gacek and Moira Gaul of the Family Research Council. In their article “Plan B: A Grave Threat to Women’s Health” published in August of 2006, Gacek argues, “Birth control pills, which are essentially a lower dose regimen of Plan B, requires a prescription” (Gacek 1). He later goes on to say birth control pills require an appointment with a licensed doctor to determine contraindications, obtain a prescription, and they must provide medical oversight throughout the usage period of the birth control. Birth control pills are available only for medical reasons because they can cause significant or life-threatening conditions such as blood clots and heart attacks. Their contraindicated…

The media constantly bombards viewers with the so-called “war on drugs”; indeed the issue that many nations face is one of concern. Due to competition among drug cartels, innocent people suffer injuriously; therefore, these nations wage a theoretical war against the spread and corruption of drugs. However, aside from there being a “war on drugs”, it seems that in today’s modern quest for perfect health, or at least prolonged health, the drug industries in the United States (also addressed as Big Pharma) compete to find and sell the next big drug. These drug industries do not wage war against drugs, instead a “war for drugs”.…

Americans are not skeptical enough about prescription pills. They never really look into what they are taking and that is going to negatively affect their health in the long run. American people will hear that a pill will take away pain and they will do anything to get it. It is truly a disease to be addicted to opioids since you won’t even be able to function without your daily dose because the mind is telling the people that they need it. Other countries are much better off without having all these medications and that will result in a healthier population for those…

Nowadays, there is practically a pill for almost any condition, symptom, or slightest abnormality in the human body. The moment when someone starts to feel any minor inconvenience or discomfort, they go running to their doctor to write a prescription to make it all better. Whether it’s taking a pill to lose weight, or being unable to “perform” sexually, America has become a pill-popping nation. Last year, researchers from Mayo Clinic (a non-profit medical and research center) found that nearly 70 percent of Americans were on at least one prescription drug, and 20 percent of them were taking more than five prescriptions at once (“Public Citizen”). There is no doubt that for many people, prescriptions are beneficial and even lifesaving in some cases, but hundreds of millions of these prescriptions are either entirely unnecessary or incredibly dangerous. I believe that America has become dependent on taking prescription drugs for instant relief and it is time for alternative methods to be put into action.…

HIPPA Privacy Law and Patients’ Bill of Rights are supposed to protect an individual privacy when it comes to their medical information. These laws were created and put into place to establish patient confidentiality and not have patients’ information disclosed without prior consent. In 1998, Dawn Castellano, a pharmacy technician who worked for Arbor Drugs in Mount Clemens, Michigan, violated a patient’s confidentiality by disclosing information to her son regarding one of her customers. The pharmacy technician was filling a prescription for AIDS medication and discovers the customer was a parent of her son classmates. The technician informed her child of the customer condition and later her son taunted his classmates about their father disease. The customer children had no prior knowledge of the disease.…
