This role has given me the opportunity to put my knowledge and previous experience in to practice. From what I have observed and experienced, I now have a better understanding of how to communicate with children, the type of language required and how to manage their behaviour. This is useful as I feel that some of the primary schools which I have been to through the agency, my help and support has directly impacted positively on some children through their transitions, with positive encouragement and support.

These experiences have given me a better understanding of the priorities a teacher has and how time management skills are importent with children. Through my roles both as a student on placement and a teaching assistant I have developed skills which will support me with teaching.

I believe that I am hardworking, applying 100% effort in everything I do. I have a clear, logical mind with a practical approach to problem solving and a drive to see things through to completion. I am a hardworking, adaptable and conscientious individual with a strong sense of commitment towards success. I think that these skills and abilities would be essential for the PGCE course and as a

I was nineteen years old when I gave my life to Jesus Christ. I felt a calling to serve God and I decided to attend a Bible College to pursue a degree in Theology. When I arrived at Christian Life College (CLC) in January of 2001, I never could have dreamed that God would open the doors for me to work in a full-time ministry and do what I enjoy doing every day. My interest in the art of filmmaking and video production began unexpectedly during my first year at CLC.…

I have decided to apply for a primary education course as I enjoy working with young students and I am passionate about helping the future generations with their education. In sixth form I study four subjects including: BTEC science, Applied Business, Applied I.C.T and BTEC Health and Social. These courses all provide me with a good skill set in order to study for a primary education degree. The subjects I am doing provide me with appropriate skills for this course as Health and Social required me to do a work placement for 100 hours. For this placement I decided to work at All Saints National Primary School. It was through this work placement that I learned that teaching was the career for me. As well as this I do I.C.T. which in this day and age is a relevant course to do, especially for teachers, considering the amount of technology they have to use daily. I also do BTEC science and Applied Business these subjects do provide me with skills such as essay writing and organisational skills that are required to be a teacher.…

Ian Nelson says that teachers of present times are under great stress. They have to perform a lot of activities i.e. teaching five hours or so each day, preparing the work, marking the papers, keeping the records of students up to date, etc. Due to poor time management, the teachers are unable to maintain their timetable. It has been noticed that poor time management of the teachers not only creates problems for the teachers themselves but it also wastes a lot of money of the school. Therefore, proper time management is essential for teachers. The more effectively teachers use their time, the better results they may achieve. Further, the writer mentions primary teachers. To him, primary teachers have to take many extra responsibilities along with teaching. He suggests that those teachers should know the art of time management if they wish to be good teachers. The next section of present chapter mentions the…

In 2012 working as a teaching assistant gave me the opportunity to spend my time with the children at the English School of Mongolia. I really enjoy my work placements because they have helped me to extend my theoretical and practical knowledge of children. My role in placements is to help children, who are struggling and less able to understand in English, providing age appropriate activities, singing with them, listening to them read and also reading to them. It was the most fascinating and interesting experience, I totally enjoyed working with children. I just loved the thought of waking up and knowing today am going to see them learn, help them learn and see them achieve and solve problems. This made me realise that becoming a primary school teacher was what I always wanted to do.…
