Executive Summary
The aim of this report is to calculate the amount of the dry oil that can be obtained after processing the wellhead feed. Gas Oil separation Plant is used to achieve this goal. The process involves a three phase separator, two phase separators, gas fractionation, Dehydration and Desalting. At the end of the process, three products are obtained which are gas, dry oil and water. Gas is directed to the Gas Gathering System. Dry oil is sent to the refinery and water is injected back to the ground.

    Alberta's Oil Sands

There are several processes and techniques on how to remove the oil or extract it. Removing the oil sands from the ground is easy. They are dug out of the ground with huge shovels and dumped in heavy trucks that take them to the processing plant. Here the oil sands are crushed then hot water is added to them which creates a slurry. This slurry now enters a seperating machine. The sands sinks to the bottom and bitumen stays at the top, it is then mixed with solvent and spun. Finally, it can be processed into oil. There is another technique for removing oil that is better for the environment and increases production. It is called the “in situ” technique. This involves injecting steam or solvent into the machine, which seperates the oil from the sand (oil is brought up to surface). One more way of removing oil is a process called upgrading. Upgrading is done in two ways: The first way involves a process called “coking”, which removes carbon, while the second way called hydro-processing adds hydrogen.…

Suzanne brings out a moral stand point through Standing rock. The points she makes regard the fact that the Sioux tribe were able to stop construction of the oil pipeline. The tribe sued the U.S. Army corps of engineers. This issue invoked an ugly feeling of mistreatment towards Native Americans from the past. Various protesters surfaced. The tribe’s lawyers argued that the pipeline could contaminate their water and desecrate burial grounds. The pipeline illuminated issues of racism and climate…

Answer: Electronic balance features including electronic read-out and the tare. Electonic balance can measure mass to the precision of 0.0001. Electonic balance has the tare feature which resets a balance to zero in order to get the weight of the sample, and not the container of the sample. It has enclosed glass to contain the substance being measure (Thinkwell, 2012).…
