There are many artist and architects throughout history who have made enriching pieces of art. There is no one artist greater than the other, art is made to impact people in different and powerful ways, so there is no one best of the best. You have the greats that most people know at least one or two art pieces like Picasso, Van Gogh, or Michelangelo, but these artist are not the best ever, this is because art is very subjective. So who should a paper on an artist be about? The most famous of them all or the not so renowned. I say write about the artist that you find interesting and that person to me is Peter Paul Rubens. He has mastery over his brush and painted extraordinary baroque style art works that are sought after today. He life had …show more content…
He has been credited to his name 570 works of art, giving credence to his remarkable ability and his popularity. Many artist are not appreciated during their time, but Rubens was. He was a great artist and he championed the style of baroque. His baroque art was full of life, energy, and depth. With his talent and vivid imagination he became an international known artist for the baroque styleand put Antwerp on the map of places for great art. He painted many different scenes and was very good at all of them. He painted many different genres such as religious figures, historical, hunting and animals, portraits, landscapes, and he still found time to draw. He is most known for his religious art and landscapes, such as Samson and Delilah, The Descent from the cross, and A View of Het Steen in Early Morning. The colors come together in such a natural way, that this scene could have been real. The emotions of the hunters show grit, determination, and true emotions of that moment. The moment between life and death for themselves of the animals they are hunting. The movement he creates from the man falling from his horse to the man facing the opposite direction, really creates this sense of directionality. Movement to and from the center as if the hunters are circling and coming around to pass the lions as the stab and thrust into them. Lion Hunt is painted exactly how it should have been. It captures the emotions and struggles that coincide with hunting beast like lions. This piece was commissioned by a duke and he would want to see this painting and have it remind him of his hunts and time spent away in the thralls of combat. This is what Rubens was able to
