Pet Peeve Speech
Have you ever seen or heard something that irritated you so bad you just wanted to scream? I'm sure we can all agree that there are certain things that aggravate us beyond belief.
I have many pet peeves, but today I'm going to tell you about three that are especially annoying to me. My first pet peeve is people who talk with their mouth full of food; my second is people who talk on a cell phone while in a place of business; and my third are people who walk extremely slow in Wal-Mart.
Have you ever been in a restaurant and looked at the table beside you and saw a person trying to talk with their much full of food? It's gross right?! I am not sure what makes people think they can chew food and carry on a conversation at the same time. Nobody wants to see what somebody else is chewing. It is very unattractive.
Something else that really works o my nerves is someone talking on a cell phone while they are in a place of business, especially if the atmosphere is quiet. If you are in a place of business, please hang up the phone. Nobody wants to know what you are doing tonight. Please keep you personal business to yourself or learn how to walk outside.
Patience is not something I have a lot of, so getting behind someone who walks extremely slow in Wal-Mart is so annoying. When I go to Wal-Mart, I usually get wha I gave to get and go, if that is possible. If I get behind someone who is walking slow and won't get out of the way, I get very frustrated. I realize elderly people are an exception, but I wish the people who walk slow for no reason would learn to move a little faster or get out of the way, because I don't want to stay in Wal-Mart all day.
I have shared with you some of the things that really annoy me the most: the people who chew like they are cows, the loud cell phone talkers, and the people who take their precious time in

When, in the course of my crazy life, it becomes necessary for me to make conversation with other humans, and to hold said conversation and also listen, I must give my undivided attention to person(s) I am talking with. There is one certain element I cannot stand however; and that is listening to people. People telling me what to do with my life, where to sleep, where to sit, people telling me they like my shirt, that they think I’m funny, and some that even have the audacity to call me their “friend”. This is something that cannot go on any further.…

Next, after deciding I decided I would see how people standing in a line would react to me violating their space, so I went to various fast food restaurants to see. This is where the reactions were very minimal more discrete. While standing in line I would keep getting closer and closer to the person in front on me until I got some kind of reaction out of them. Most of the people would just step forward or to the side slide to avoid me without any other kind of reaction. Where the standing in lines seemed to be different then sitting on the bench is that the people in line were able to take one or two steps to protect their personal space.…

People really annoy me when they just don't listen. It's so frustrating. It’s ether I don’t speak English or my words are just going in through one ear and out the other. In conversations, I give people my time and ask them lots of questions but get nothing back in return. Conversations should be fair, with equal amounts of talking time. That's all I'm asking for. It makes my blood boil when I'm ignored. It makes me cringe inside in a weird way. Listening isn't a skill that gets taught, but maybe it should. When I was in primary school, we had it right. The class would sit in a huge circle on the carpet and you could only talk if you were holding the teddy. It was great! We learnt how to take turns talking, and most importantly, take turns listening. I wish we could bring the teddy rule back in. I'm the kind of person who asks a lot of questions. I try my best to focus fully on what's being said.…
