We are a non-profit organization dedicated to bring awareness to and end the yulin dog meat festival and eventually the dog meat trade all together. There are millions of dogs and cats brutally tortured everyday to this horrific(and in some places illegal) trade. We not only fight for the dogs and cats in asia, but for the ones local and worldwide as well. Puppy mills and bestiality are just a couple examples of what we are also fighting to end. We also would like to provide aide to homeless pets and their owners. There are so many homeless dogs on the streets that suffer and struggle right alongside their human companions. These innocent victims are unable to speak for themselves, therefore WE are their voices. We have so much hope for the future of these beautiful and loyal animals. …show more content…

The not for profit company I have chosen for this assignment is the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. This company was founded in 1866 by Henry Bergh and was the first humane organization founded in the western hemisphere. Today, it is one of the largest humane organizations in the world. Their area of interest is nationwide with a focus to rescue animals from abuses, pass humane laws and share resources with shelters. The mission statement is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.” Some of the activities they participate in include community outreach, animal health services, and anti-cruelty initiatives. The ASPC is privately funded, but also receives donations which are solicited in various ways like television commercials and online advertisements. The core values center around the belief “that animals were entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of human and must be protected under the law.”…

Pitt bull. Pit bulls weigh around 55 to 65 lbs. Though there are quite a number of people who adore pit bulls to a fault, that will not stop us from labelling the breed as the most dangerous dogs in the world. They have the highest attacks towards people compared to the other dog breeds. In fact, from the period between 2005 to 2015, pit bills had killed 232 people in the US alone. This is killing one person in every 17 days. Furthermore, some state governments already banned the breeding of pit bulls on the grounds of their aggressive behavior.…

You have heard it countless times before. “Pit bulls are heartless monsters!” Or you may have heard the ever famous claim, “Pit bulls are killers, dangerous, and keep your kids away from them!” But there are people like me out there that believe they are not monsters. They are just misunderstood. Training and discipline techniques from a young age are all it takes to have a lovable pit bull that wouldn’t hurt a fly.…

Did you know that there's a law that a service dog is the only animal that can go in public places? I think that any service animal should be able to go to a public place as long as they’re helping someone. Monkeys are actually very smart and can help someone more than a dog can. Also other animals may keep someone calm, may help them carry something, and may even give someone exercise. But since this law is here no one is allowed to take any other animal but a dog to public places.…

“Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages.” This quote about animal abuse is from Thomas Edison, an engineer known for his life changing innovations that continue to impact on our world today. Animal abuse is a long-debated problem, often causing the world’s population to split into two sides over the dispute. On one side, are those who say that humans are far superior to animals and other living beings who have been put here solely to feed or entertain us. On the other hand, there are those of us who recognise that these “inferior life forms” should have the same rights as us, and so they deserve the same treatment.…

If we don't instead of having just a couple of states that have a high number of homeless people there will be like a competition of which states can rise the fastest of having the most people that can not have there own place to live and higher death rates. For example right now Los Angeles is the largest homeless population which 55% has grown to 12,536 and that alone has said that california has one- third of the homeless population.(Los Angeles times) The increase of that outpaced the one in new york city with a ratio 3:1 which is what i meant it’s like a competition of who has the most people in need. Instead of that they should have a friendly competition of who can help the most and reduce the number of deaths per year that's what should be done positive instead of negative.…

In today’s society there is a fine line about what is considered cruel and what is not. Hunters do not believe what they do as cruelty to animals, whereas a non-hunter would say it is indeed cruelty. There is not one form of animal cruelty that is considered worse than another. All forms of animal cruelty needs to be addressed. This organization can help everyone to understand what is considered animal cruelty and what is not. ASPCA can help individuals in a professional setting to spread the word about animal cruelty and the steps that companies or individuals can do to participate in fighting for animal rights. Giving a company and their employees the opportunity to participate in an organization as important as the prevention of animal cruelty can, and will help the company grow as well as helping the…
